Canon 7D

Canon EOS 7D

I finally got around to taking some photos of my new Canon EOS 7D rig. This is really a great camera system. I must admit that I have run into some of its limitations, but I feel confident that I can work around the issues. I have been spending a lot of time with the camera from production through a post production Final Cut Studio work flow, and it has a lot of possibilities. If I can work with you on your production plan, we can take advantage of the 7D on your next project.

The 7D can shoot film-like images at an extremely affordable cost.  I just finished shooting short film with it. I was really pleased with my photography. We were spot checking footage on my computer through out the shoot. Both the director and producer were amazed at how beautiful the images from this camera look. Every DP loves hearing after stressing out about shooting and lighting for a new camera. I cannot wait to use the 7D for commercials and music videos.

I just started a personal documentary that I've had on the back burner for years. The 7D finally gave me a reason to get started. I am recording the audio externally on a Zoom H4N recorder. Coming from a video background, I was really nervous about double system sound. I love it now! Audio files are tiny when it comes to storage. That means I can keep the audio recorder rolling for hours. You never know what you might miss when the camera is not rolling. I need to stop the camera, I will at least have the audio recorded. I am looking forward to creating more beautiful images with this camera.
